Position Summary

As a PM4, you will lead a complex, multi-project portfolio, often with multiple funding sources, within a a specific mission area. You’ll shape sponsor strategy, integrate cross-division work, and ensure sustained performance to baselines while growing the portfolio over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own portfolio outcomes across several projects, PIs, and divisions; run integrated program reviews and readiness.

  • Set and defend scope/cost/schedule baselines; oversee EV performance and trend analysis.

  • Lead risk management (quant/qual), MR/contingency stewardship, and disciplined change control.

  • Broker priorities and funding profiles with sponsors; maintain long-term trust and transparent communications.

  • Integrate multi-source funding under a coherent WBS/IMS and reporting cadence; ensure audit readiness.

  • Drive portfolio growth via roadmaps, white papers, capture inputs, and proposal leadership.

  • Mentor/guide PMs, Project Controls, and technical leads; promote best practices across the team-of-teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related experience (or equivalent).

  • Proven leadership of large, regulated technical/operational portfolios with EVMS compliance and successful surveillances/audits.

  • Demonstrated success managing sponsor relationships at senior levels and re-baselining as priorities evolve.

  • Excellent executive communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in engineering, science, or management.

  • Prior leadership within national lab or DOE/NNSA portfolios; experience integrating multiple funding sources.

  • Tooling depth with Primavera and EVMS cost tools (e.g., Cobra) and analytics/reporting (e.g., Power BI).

  • Capture/proposal leadership with documented growth wins.

Deal Breakers

  • Work location: Onsite in NM.

  • Clearance: Active DOE Q clearance at time of hire (U.S. citizenship required by DOE for Q).

  • Security/Compliance: Commitment to all Lab, security, and ES&H requirements.

Compensation (Base Salary Range)

  • Estimated range: $185,000 – $230,000.
