Position Summary

As a PM3, you’ll serve as the customer-facing owner for one or more technical/operational programs at the National Laboratory. You’ll align sponsor needs with internal teams and deliver against scope/cost/schedule baselines over multiple years in a regulated, security-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own program scope, milestones, success criteria; coordinate multiple related projects within a mission area.

  • Translate sponsor needs into funded, executable work; negotiate scope, timeframes, and budgets.

  • Establish and manage cost/schedule/scope baselines; track CPI/SPI, analyze variances, and drive recovery plans.

  • Run formal change control and risk management (qual/quant), protecting schedule margin and budget.

  • Ensure compliance with client requirements (security, QA, ES&H); maintain audit-ready artifacts.

  • Build trust with internal/external stakeholders; resolve conflicts and gain consensus across divisions.

  • Contribute to roadmaps, white papers, and opportunity shaping as missions evolve.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of related management experience (or equivalent).

  • Demonstrated leadership of technical/operational work with WBS/IMS, baselines, EV/variance, risk, and change control.

  • Strong written/oral communication; executive-ready presentations and status reporting.

  • Familiarity with DOE/NNSA environments, compliance culture, and sponsor engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced coursework/degree in engineering, science, management, or related field.

  • Experience supporting national laboratory programs or DOE line-item projects.

  • Hands-on with Primavera, Cobra (or similar EVMS toolchain).

  • Proposal/roadmap development experience and customer brokering.

  • Work location: Onsite in NM.

  • Clearance: Must be Q-eligible and able to obtain/maintain clearance (U.S. citizenship required by DOE for Q).

  • Security/Compliance: Willingness to comply with all Lab and sponsor requirements.

Compensation (Base Salary Range)

  • Estimated range: $145,000 – $180,000.
